Honoring Those Who Served

Joseph (Joe) Emrick

“Joseph (Joe) Emrick dedicated himself both to his nation and his local community. During World War II, he served as a Military Policeman stationed in Okinawa. Joe was deeply engaged in civic life, actively participating in the East Bangor Volunteer Fire Company and leading the Cub Scouts. He also contributed as a member of the East Bangor Park Board, served on the Borough Council, and headed the East Bangor Civil Defense program during the early Cold War years, remaining involved until the program was discontinued.

His membership in various community organizations reflected his sense of duty to his country, his faith, and his leisure. Memberships included American Legion Post 750 of Roseto and the Bangor Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the East Bangor Rod and Gun Club, Blue Heron Hunting and Fishing Club of Pike County.”
